Fig: Solving Problem Using Processors Inspires Intel

Intel develops projects in different countries, but here in Bangladesh, we develop software. The local talents, who have graduated from local universities, do the job. It is one of our biggest achievements,” said Kazi Huque, in an interview with a Bangladeshi top business newspaper Bonik Barta.

Out of 7.5 billion people living globally, 2.5 billion use computers and for the past 40 years Intel has been creating the brain or processor for them. Intel is inspired to solve the problems of the greater population through their processors. The Bangladeshi born CEO of the company proudly says, Grameen Intel works for agriculture, education and health care.

Mr. Huque is the finance director at the Chip maker giant Intel Corporation, USA. He is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grameen Intel Social Business, the first IT Social business in the world. He added, “At the beginning, it was very difficult to generate fertilizer recommendations to farmers based on the soil test but since the design is made by the local engineers, they have updated the interface so that farmers can use it."

“Farmers generally overuse fertilizers or chemicals which are harmful to the soil. The result shows that it has a negative effect on the overall crop production”, said Huque.

“We want to work with everyone and that is why all of our solutions are available to everyone”, he said. We have projects in India and Cambodia where we work with in partnership with various international development organizations and governments.
